Blue Buggers

This weeks game welcomed the official arrival of the brand new Moreton Bay Buggers playing strip. The delicious royal blue shirts were out in force with 12 of the Buggers doing their thing in the shinny Patagonia attire.

In my opinion the new shirt design with revitalised crustation and stylishly placed team name had more to do with our win than our questionable offensive stack did this week.

Thanks to Matty Ryan for style and design contributions and to Wet Nose for his logistical and international communication prowess. Well done boys, and well done all you other boys for looking the goods.

Word on the street is that 2007 may yet hold more surprises in uniform and merchandise advancements for the current gun team of the comp.

Keep your eyes peeled for any Buggers in your area.

Round 3 - Hang on for a win

Round 3 was a challenging week, we were understrength due to the international travellers and dedicated family men that we have on our team. Regardless we managed to finish with a 3 point win over the DoJo team who were struggling with numbers also.

It was a good effort from the players who had to work hard all night. I've been thinking about our man on man defense, and I think it is very good and effective when we have the energy and intensity to make it work.
If we are tired or just not running hard for some reason then it becomes pretty dangerous and open.

Exciting things from last round for me were: the early signs of leadership that I noticed from a few members of the team. Positive for the future of the MBB. Also Chadwick had his best game of Frisbee so far (in my opinion), very reliable with the Frisbee and very effective playing on the wing against the zone defense.

Nice work boys. Looking forward to getting the numbers back up for this weeks game. UQ.

And welcome to 3 new players who look like they have plenty of offer this season.

Mick - Also UQ graduate

Well done on the win. It was 4 all, then it was 8 - 4 at half time (goodrun). Then we won 15 - 7. I think we out ran them as much as we out playedthem. It was a good start, we have some things to sort out.

New boys,Carlos, Mick, Nick, Welcome. Old boys, g'day. Chadwick and Jangles, you bothcome down to the field and supporting your team while you are injured, thatis the kind of action that makes us the best team in this competition. Welldone. Looking forward to getting you blokes back on the field.

This one is important to me. 75% of this team played their first BPL in thepast 2 or 3 leagues. Most of us are only just coming out of being 'new', weare all still learning, we are all still improving. We have to work togetherto get better as a group and as individuals. We have all made mistakes onthe field, we all will again, most of us did tonight. I did. When you aretalking to your team mates, do it considering the above please.Be excited, be loud, be desperate, expect and request effort and intensityfrom your team mates. Do it with positivity. Yell TO your team mates not ATyour team mates. First game .....
