As of 9:05pm, 15 March 2007 the Buggers enter a competition to become the BPL Premiers for the 3rd time in a row (this is our 4th final in a row) and they do so as undefeated Minor Premiers. However, if it hadn't been for some dogged determination, or as Mikey would say "Mongrel" intensity, we almost definitely would have been swept by the wayside.
The new stack worked well yet seemed to fall apart when we got on a roll. This, I think, is the nature of the stack, as it is a dynamic object that needs to continue moving down/up the field depending on the play. We need to restrict ourselves on cuts to the open side and cutting off people further down the stack. There is room for improvement and the team will perform much better over the up and coming seasons as we come to terms with our individual positions, strengths and weaknesses.
Next week we have a chance to rest and reflect. Use it. Michael had some good advice in that we all have one thing in last nights performance to be proud of and one thing that needs some work. Ponder these two aspects of your game over the next 2 weeks.
- Why is it that one is working so well yet the other so poorly?
- Why is it that you do this one thing so well and can you use this to become more proficient in the area you're lacking?
Congratulations boys on the win and enjoy a week off. Lets come out on Grand Final night a better team than last night.
Over and out,
Golddigger
